An important seventeenth century Italian architectural cabinet. The exterior is veneered with tortoiseshell whilst the interior is veneered with ebony and is inlaid with ivory and semi-precious stones. This piece formally belonged to Fra Carlo Gattola, 
(member of the Order of St.John).
